Benefits of Eating Celery at Night


Eating celery at night has many benefits! First of all, celery is a food that contains a lot of water, (almost 95% of water) which will act as a diuretic in your body and flush out fluids and toxins. While this is great for your body, it can be very disruptive to your sleep if you eat celery too close to bedtime.


Celery is a very healthy vegetable that is great for low- calorie snacking. Some of its nutritional value and benefits are:

Reduces inflammation. Celery juice is high in phytonutrients, which are plant compounds that have been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects that can protect against arthritis and osteoporosis.

  • Great source of antioxidants. Antioxidants protect cells, blood vessels, blood pressure, maintains cholesterol levels and organs from oxidative damage.   • Low in sodium.

  • Low on the glycemic index, meaning it has a slow, steady effect on your blood sugar.

  • Supports digestion. While its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrients offer protection to the entire digestive tract, celery may offer special benefits to the stomach.

  • Provides dietary fibre and weight loss. One large stalk contains only 10 calories. Studies also demonstrate celery is
