Tannia Laracuente-Martinez

Founder, Studio Director & Vocal and Piano Instructor

Tannia Laracuente-Martinez is a performing and recording artist, vocal coach, music educator, and author with more than 30 years of experience in music and the performing arts. She founded Kendall Music Studios in 2008, creating a welcoming environment where students develop their musical abilities, build confidence, and discover their artistic voice.

Classically trained in voice and piano, Tannia brings professional performance experience and a personalized, holistic approach to every lesson. Her instruction combines healthy vocal technique, musical foundations, expressive interpretation, and audition preparation, while respecting each student’s strengths, learning style, and goals. She teaches in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of Italian.

As an educator and mother, Tannia understands the importance of patience, encouragement, and clear communication. She has a particular passion for supporting neurodivergent learners, adapting lesson structure, pacing, and instruction to help students engage with music and progress at their own rhythm.

Her teaching experience includes Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus and master classes and vocal coaching for the Theatre Arts and Vocal Magnet departments at Miami Arts Studio at Zelda Glazer. She has also served as a judge-in-residence for prospective students’ admission auditions.

Tannia has helped students prepare for acceptance into magnet school programs and prestigious performing arts colleges, pursue scholarships, and earn Superior ratings and Critic’s Choice recognition. Among her former students is Joshua Grosso, winner of the 2012 Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor.

Her professional leadership experience includes serving as Director of the Music Academy of Coral Gables, Concert Hall Director of Yamaha Concert Hall, and Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Coral Gables Productions, LLC, doing business as Kendall Studios. She has also consulted on artist development with record labels and television networks.

Tannia’s television and competition experience includes serving as a technical vocal judge for “Buscando Estrellas” on América TeVé, Channel 41, and guest judging for competitions including Univision’s “Objetivo Fama,” NBC/Telemundo’s “Yo Canto” in Puerto Rico, and regional singing and karaoke festivals.

A cum laude graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Tannia earned a degree in Drama with a minor in Music. She also studied piano and classical voice at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and continued her operatic training with vocal coach Manny Perez as a lyric-spinto soprano.

She is the author of The Auditioning Process for the Singer, available in English and Spanish, and the creator and host of Micrófono Abierto Go. She also serves on the board of Miami Youth Orchestra & Choir, extending her commitment to music education and opportunities for young performers.

At Kendall Music Studios, her mission is personal: to help each student develop the skills, confidence, and self-expression to grow as both a musician and an individual.
